Read an Excerpt

Quinn stood on the pier at Fisherman’s wharf hid among the throngs of people and watched as the young mother smoothed the windblown hair of her child as she watched the magic act being performed.

He knew why he’d come back to California. The woman talking lovingly to the child was the only person in the whole world that he trusted and the only woman that he’d ever loved. He and the woman had grown up together with no idea that they were brother and sister.

Quinn swallowed hard and let his gaze traveled to the man standing beside her. His old friend Kienan Egan. His eyes captured a tall, lean tamer lion with diehard toughness watching lovingly over his pride. At the sight of the smile Kienan gave the smiling child securely held in his arms, Quinn envied him. Kienan was a proud, happy, married man. A father with his whole world within his reach.

All at once the little girl let out a spontaneous peal of laughter amused at the antics of the magician performing in front of her.

As if on cue Lacey Egan’s head reared up astute as if her womanly instincts were on high alert. Her gaze scanned the crowd on the pier. All at once her gaze turned transfixed and powerful as she honed in on a man.

    1. Hi Kim,
Great question. Pretty much my books, the Grand Hotel and the Lover Players Seducer Series where born out of my “what-if” moments while attending an Annual Christmas Ball held at the Black Hawk Museum in Danville, California.
Let me go back and first say this.
For the record, in my Books I, II, III of Lover, Players & The Seducer series are inspired by real life people and there are a couple of realistic elements in the story that happened to those real people, that I knew at that time.
However, these real-life people, have all, passed from this life. But for the most part, my books are totally fictional.
Now back to my attending the Annual Christmas Ball.
Each year I looked forward to attending this event with my husband, and my BFF and her husband. While attending I would always be amazed at all the life moments, fierce energies and multiple dramas occurring all around. But my real inspiration to write the series came when I was visiting San Francisco, that same winter, of the Annual Christmas Ball. I had parked off Powell Street and WHOA! I had to walk past the Sir Drake Hotel on Powell Street in Francisco, and it was at nighttime and expensive cars, were pulling in and out of the front of the Sir Drake Hotel. Beautifully elegant people were going inside. The flickering lights coming from the welcoming door gave me a “what if “moment. From there the ideas for The Grand Hotel was born, because I knew all the dramas, I had seen at the Annual Christmas Ball would make an excellent story.
