Synopsis

One crazy night. A bottle of stolen champagne. And a spanking they’ll never forget.

That night changed Leo and Sophie forever, but it wasn’t meant to be. They went off to college and they fizzled. Grew apart. Changed. Leo moved on, searching for women who didn’t hide every single emotion behind an icy mask. And Sophie . . . Sophie became the ice queen everyone dubbed her as.

Or so they thought.

Now seven years later, Leo and his business partners want to buy a rundown mansion. Something with old-world elegance. Oozing with grandeur. A future kink resort where Doms can turn their submissives’ deepest fantasies into reality.

Who’s the best real estate agent in the area? Sophie. The ice queen. The woman he can’t seem to forget.

She can’t—no won’t turn down the chance to prove herself to Leo. One deal and then she can walk away with her head held high. She won’t let them see the real her.

But when one celebratory drink turns into a snowed-in night with three Doms, all bets are off.

Can Sophie and Leo have just one more night? Or will they discover one night will never be enough.

“To Fairford Manor,” Aiden said, raising his own glass.

Leo echoed the toast with the others, then took a sip. Closing his eyes for a moment, he savored the perfect crispness of the champagne. Sophie never was one to skimp.

“And to Sophie,” Leo said, hoisting his glass back into the air. “The best damn Realtor on the east coast.”

Her answering smile was exactly what it should be: both grateful and humble, as if she deeply appreciated the compliment but wasn’t quite sure she deserved it.

Leo didn’t believe it for a single second. It was merely another mask—the expression she knew she was supposed to have, because if she showed the fierce pride he was certain she took in her work, people would judge her. Women weren’t supposed to know how great they were. That honor was reserved for men alone.

Fuck the patriarchy, et cetera.

“Here, let me top you off.” Leo picked up the champagne, but when Sophie held out her gold-rimmed flute, he didn’t pour. “La Grande Dame Brut, Veuve Clicquot,” he said at a near whisper, staring down at the label.

“My favorite champagne.” She did her best to sound nonchalant, but her grip tightened around the delicate stem of her glass.

After several more seconds, Leo managed to tear his gaze away from the bottle, fixing Sophie with an intense stare. “You don’t remember?”

“Remember?” Her voice was slightly higher than normal. “Remember what?”

He knew she was lying. For once, her face betrayed her. “Sophie.” He didn’t even use his Dom voice.

Heaving a resigned sigh, Sophie admitted, “Of course I remember. It’s even the same year. Why do you think it’s my favorite?”

Leo couldn’t have been more stunned if she slapped him across the face.

“This is all very fascinating to watch,” Aiden said, leaning back in his chair and taking a slow sip of champagne. “But you’re the only two who have any idea what you’re talking about. Would one of you care to share with the class?”

Since Leo continued staring at Sophie with his mouth hanging open, she took it upon herself to fill them in. Turning pointedly away from Leo, she calmly said, “This is what we drank the first time Leo spanked me. In fact, it was the first time either of us experimented with BDSM.” Seemingly unable to help herself, she glanced back at him, her icy gaze thawing. “And it was the best night of my life.”

Without another word, Leo plunked his glass down on the floor and hauled Sophie onto his lap, crushing his lips against hers. The tiny bit of champagne still in her glass spilled onto his white dress shirt, but he didn’t fucking care. He was kissing Sophie again. After so many years apart, she landed right back in his arms, and nothing else mattered.

Sophie resisted for about half a second before she melted against him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her mouth opened at the slightest probing of his tongue, and he deepened the kiss, devouring her like a man starved.

The taste of champagne on her tongue, the press of her breasts against his chest, the subtle smell of her floral perfume—it all combined to overwhelm his senses.

Sophie, Sophie, Sophie.

Her name was like a mantra in his head. The answer to all his questions. A reason to keep breathing.

He was falling for her all over again. And that was absolutely, unequivocally terrifying. He wasn’t sure he could take being frozen out a second time.
